I use a Ultrawide monitor (Samsung G9 Neo) and the topbar becomes basically a single dark 1 meter strip with nothing on it.
I have disabled showing anything on it except for the clock and a few items, which naturally flow to the right.
I am currently using the TopBar on the bottom of the screen but also using the dock on the bottom. This makes it so that the topbar background, which is full width, stays behind the dock.
If the background could follow the size of the actual used portion of the bar, this would solve all issues since the bar would become a small strip on the right side of the screen, as an island exactly like the dock. And the dock would float freely on the center. I have this setup o Windows and it works great.
