Related Application and/or Package Version (run apt policy $PACKAGE NAME):
Issue/Bug Description:
Using Settings|Users to change a user's profile icon / avatar only displays image files within /usr/share/pixmaps/faces. The symbolic links within this folder to images in ./legacy are not displayed for selection.
Steps to reproduce (if you know):
Open Settings|Users and click the profile icon to change it. Notice that the images available correspond only to the JPG files that exist in /usr/share/pixmaps/faces; the images behind the symbolic links in that folder are not displayed.
Expected behavior:
Ignoring the symbolic links in this context may be expected behavior, but their existence suggests an intention of making the legacy images available to Settings|Users.
Other Notes:
This was identified when I changed my profile icon from the penguin, set for user account at install, to something else, then sought to change it back and could not readily do so. Workaround is to move the desired JPG file(s) from the legacy folder up one level.
