Only working once per session is already known: https://github.com/pop-os/gnome-shell/issues/134
When the generated video is "broken," can you please try opening it with a different video player such as MPV or VLC, instead of the default Videos app? Does it work in either of those other players, or is it also broken there? (I do see the GitHub embed is broken.)
I'm going to go ahead and close this as a duplicate of #134 since I didn't hear back from you regarding the video "breakage."

Issue/Bug Description:
Built-in screenshot app doesn't work for videos. Sometimes it starts recording and I can stop it, but the generated video is broken. Next tries, nothing happens when I try to record.
Steps to reproduce (if you know):
Open the app (print screen key), select the video option and try to record. It doesn't record properly.
Expected behavior:
It should record the screen as expected.
