MyNameIsArko commented 2 years ago

(1) Issue/Bug Description:

When launching app that have delayed window, for example discord, and having launcher opened makes it lose focus (unable to write anything in it), but stay on the screen. It need to be manually focused again with mouse or hit super to close it. Also opened app in not focused so you can't type anything in it.

(2) Steps to reproduce (if you know):

  1. Launch discord and immediately launch launcher
  2. Don't close launcher and wait for app to open
  3. See that launcher lost focus but stayed on screen

I can confirm this is happening.

Arigato-Scientisto commented 2 years ago

yes it happens, fix this please.

bkis commented 2 years ago

Can confirm. This annoys me, too.
I might add that this happens for both native and Flatpak apps and has nothing to do with the opening app stealing focus when opening. Some apps do that (shame on those), but that's not what's happening here.

We had another user (@KaKi87 below) ask about this in Mattermost; their use case is having auto-launching apps shortly after they log in, which is also when they're trying to use the launcher.

Hello, Any news on this ? Thanks

EDIT: sorry, I'm the other user Jacob mentioned, I didn't see his comment before posting mine 😅
