Pixelation/shimmering of certain app icons #565

Some icons seems to be scaled/sampled badly, causing shimmering and pixelation in different situations. I mainly notice it in the app list when it is very small; I have it in the panel. Here the cosmic-term and cosmic-files seem to scale correctly. The rest becomes quite pixelated and rough looking.

It is also present in the applibrary, but here it also results in shimmering when the icons move slowly. This video is recorded at 50% scaling to exaggerate the issue, but the issue is present at any scale. Notice especially the blackmagic speed test icon (top row). Not all icons seem to be affected.

It might be a more general image scaling thing. I am observing similar shimmering in the cosmic-store

It's also quite visible when horizontally resizing COSMIC Settings while on the Appearance page, where the borders of things flicker.

I think what you mention might be more related to #568. This is more about images being (seemingly) filtered badly when scaled. At least I believe they are unrelated? 🤷🏻
