AMD machines, and resume from suspend problem #143

I have two seperate AMD+NVIDIA RTX machines (one Threadripper 3950x one Ryzen 9 5900x) both running on Gigabyte mainboards (TRX40 and X570 Extreme), and latest BIOS.

The following issue started after I upgraded to PopOs 22.04 LTS:

Each time system goes into a deep sleep mode, both machines do not wake up properly, the display never turns back on. BIOS debug shows 30, i.e. resume and handover to OS, but the screen never wakes up and the keyboard is not responsive. The only thing I can do is to force shutdown the machine.

I've tried few BIOS options (i.e. turning on and off the resizable bar support, CSM, etc.) to no avail.

A google search revealed no relevant results.

I find it strange I experience the issue on two different machines. I suspect a buggy bios since both machines have Gigabyte mainboards, but I am not an expert in debugging what fails in the kernel. Could you please help me debug the issue?
