issue, changing DE causes monitors to go to sleep #58

I've been using popos 20.04 for a couple days now so I am pretty much a noob so I apologize if I don't get everything at first shot

basically when changing de (I'm currently trying to use i3-wm and openbox) my monitor goes black and I can see the no signal warning popup on it (so I can't use tty or anything at all)

I've seen many issues similar to this and them are all regarding Nvidia graphic driver problems, so I've tried fixing by setting options nvidia-drm modeset=1 to options nvidia-drm modeset=0 but this did not fix the issue I've also tried setting the nosplash flag by running sudo kernelstub --delete-options "quiet splash" but neither this changed the situation at all

I'm currently using a ASUS K550VX-XX207T with this hardware: Intel core I5 6300hq 4+4 gb ram DDR4 SDRAM GPU nVidia Geforce GTX 950

I also have a second monitor which is a old VW193D-B from asus
