ASUS TUF Gaming F15: Integrated web camera sometimes works sometimes doesn't #1569

My integrated webcam works sometimes, and other times the only way I can get it to work is by restarting the computer multiple times until it is detected. When I run lsusb it listed as: Bus 001 Device 025: ID 13d3:56a2 IMC Networks USB2.0 HD UVC WebCam and I have no physical switch or toggle on the keyboard before that is suggested. I am running Pop_OS 20.10 on a ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX506LI_FX5 if that helps.

@njrenegade this may be out of our control based on what hardware you are running and how little access we have with that hardware. However, we can test on our own machines if we know more specifics.

  1. What application are you using with the webcam?
  2. When it works does it work consistently (before and after its use, throughout the day, etc.)
  3. When it works does it work through wake/sleep cycles (like when you close the laptop lid and open it back up)
