I've had other issues with audio and specifically with a USB dock since the latest updates, now that I think about it, I don't see my HDMI device in Sound settings, which used to work out of the box
I am experiencing something similar with openSUSE Tumbleweed since i did an update some days ago. Audio through HDMI is not working on my AMD card.
Kernel: 5.11.16-1-default
I'm experiencing this too.
I think this bug is upstream bug drm/amd/1536. I guess the fix hasn't made it into the stable Linux trees. I installed the latest Linux stable kernel, 5.13.7, and noticed the issue is still there.
I just installed a patched 5.13.7 with the referenced patch and the HDMI audio device reappears and sound works again.
I can't find the revert in Linus's upstream kernel, so it looks like perhaps the maintainer did not send it upstream and it is similarly absent from the stable kernel trees.
