Have you made any theme changes in Gnome Tweaks? If so, can you screenshot that section so I can see what all the theme options are set to?

@leviport I experienced the same, a black text on a dark background in the applications menu. In my case, this occurs when I use Tweaks to set the shell theme to "pop-dark" (after installing the "User Themes" gnome shell extension) and set the applications theme to "pop".
@TansyEliot Here are the steps to fix it; just did I, because I had the same problem.

Hello, I have similar issues with PopOS 22.04. I want everything white - top menu bar, dock, terminal windows, applications list - everything. For now I chose 'light' theme. But that did not change terminal. Then i had to use Gnome-tweaks to change terminal to white. But app list and top menu bar are still black. Is there a tutorial explaining how to change everything?
Same issue here, since 22.04, I don't have the appearance setting anymore, and get dark font on dark background in some cases (application launcher), dark font on white background in some others (pop-up, contextual menu, etc...). Any idea about this?
I also have this issue. I installed "Gnome Tweaks" and "Andromeda" theme. Everything works so far except the application launcher having black text, on this dark theme.
Distribution (run
cat /etc/os-release
): Pop!_OS - 21.10Related Application and/or Package Version (run
apt policy $PACKAGE NAME
):Issue/Bug Description: The application menu shows a black context instead of a white context, check attach.
Steps to reproduce (if you know): Just open applications menu and check application names if it's black in the dark theme.
Expected behavior: The applications name should be white in the Pop!_OS dark theme instead of black due to the gray background.
