Touchpad lags out of nowhere after 30 minutes of usage #2184

Related Application and/or Package Version (run apt policy $PACKAGE NAME): No idea, can be touchpad drivers, I don't know which exact package has got to do with this bug. It is an Elan Touchpad.

Issue/Bug Description: After using the computers for 30mins-1hour, the mouse pointer lags (as good as unusable) when moved with the touchpad. External wireless mouse works perfectly.

Steps to reproduce (if you know): Don't know. Could be hardware-specific

Expected behavior: No lags when moving mouse pointer using the touchpad

Note: restarting fixes the issue but it comes back
