apt-get claims that repo has changed various labels and aborts update #3240

After the last update (28.2.24) apt-get update does not work anymore and shows these errors:

Did the repository really change?

Issue/Bug Description: When running sudo apt-get update I get the errors posted above.

Expected behavior: The command should run through without the errors.

Other Notes: Besides this problem after the update some colors of the GUI changed as well: Even though I have the dark theme enabled, the launcher is white now. Before it also had a dark theme.

i got similar error and got it working by running without get statement. sudo apt update && apt upgrade

That's bizarre. Plain apt is what we recommend when running in a terminal (apt-get is more intended for scripts at this point), but the behavior should be the same. I'm not able to replicate this with apt-get or apt right now. @trevor87 Can you confirm if running sudo apt update fixes the issue like it did for @anuradhan?

This sounds like some other configuration must be causing an issue on your system. Can you post a screenshot of the problem?

I think I had fixed it with apt too. Sure, it does the same but I think apt interactively offered to accept the changes while apt-get just aborted with errors.

Now I do not have the error anymore, so unfortunately I cant give any further information.

PS: The GUI reverted itself somehow with some update to the normal color theme.
