I made a reddit post here too.
After refreshing the installation, I was able to get extensions to work. Then I ran updates and they all stopped. Something in the updates is breaking this. I have this same problem on 2 different computers.

no longer restarts Gnome shell. It returns "Command not found"...control
and the arrow keys doesn't move the cursor by words anymore...Steps to reproduce (if you know):
