Distribution (run cat /etc/os-release): 64 Intel and Nvidia ISO
Related Application and/or Package Version (run apt policy $PACKAGE NAME):Install
Issue/Bug Description:
I'm a long time user of Linux Mint. I use mint on many of my hardware systems, and also in "VirtualBox" VMs on Windows 10 hosts. I use both LM 18 and LM 19 this way.
I recently heard about PopOS and tried it both ways.
Booting the Intel, or the Nvidia ISOs today and they both fail the same way on a ZOTAC with Intel Atom CPU D2700, with Nvidia GF119M [Geforce GT 520M] . so this looks like an error from Ubuntu, which is the base for both LMint and POPOS.
Details are here:
https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/8654
And in addition, trying it in VirtualBox VM fails as well. I did not choose an Encrypted HD, but when I enabled the log during the black screen of the boot, it shows that it's doing something that sounds like "Encrypting the SWAP file" and that is taking "FOREVER". So I stopped it. Longer than 4 minutes, even the First time, is a FAIL for me.
Steps to reproduce (if you know):
make a stick from the ISO, boot the ZOTAC from the stick. Observe the same failure as booting the Linux Mint stick from the LinuxMint issue above.
Expected behavior:
Stick should boot and display video properly and allow install.
Using VirtualBox, install works correctly, but then booting the device fails. If I use advanced boot with "Recovery" then I see the following:
The image shows "A start job is running for /dev/mapper/cryptswap (3min 9s / no limit)
At this point I gave up. I DID NOT choose ENCRYPT HARD DRIVE when installing.
