Keyboard shortcuts buggy on GNOME 40 #946

(1) Issue/Bug Description: Some keyboard shortcuts such as moving windows between workspaces does not adjust the moved window properly while moving between workspaces does not work at all. Namely, when a tiled window is moved to a new workspace, there is no longer a gap between the top of the screen and the window (as seen on the left).

However, the equivalent commands in vanilla GNOME 40 seem to work fine (as seen on the right for window moving).

Other users have reported the following:

I can confirm that after updating to GNOME 40 on Arch most of the shortcuts don't work ,especially the shortcut to enter adjustment mode most of the times it works as a windows switcher

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed here. Most shortcuts work on GNOME 40, but some critical ones don't.

  • I am not able to move between desktops without moving a window. (Super + Ctrl + up/down)
  • I am not able to snap left/right (Super + Ctrl + left/right)
  • I am able to move a window to a new desktop (Super + Shift + up/down)
  • I am able to move to the first or last desktop (home/end)
  • Window size and position adjustments works fine.

These can be found originally posted on Issue #924.

(2) Steps to reproduce (if you know): Execute pop-shell keyboard shortcuts for the following:

(3) Expected behavior: Moving between workspaces should resemble that of default GNOME 40 in keyboard shortcut settings. Same for moving windows between workspaces.

(4) Distribution (run cat /etc/os-release): Arch Linux

(5) Gnome Shell version: GNOME 40

(6) Pop Shell version (run apt policy pop-shell or provide the latest commit if building locally): 163d207c11ad4ab10e3cc7f6ba016ee7f2afdfe0

(7) Where was Pop Shell installed from: Installed directly from the repo.

(8) Monitor Setup (2 x 1080p, 4K, Primary(Horizontal), Secondary(Vertical), etc): Single 2560x1440 resolution Dell monitor.

(9) Other Installed/Enabled Extensions: User theme extension

Now that the new PopOS! beta uses gnome 40, is this likely to see any update?
