I'd the version bump supposed to be "alpha"?

Yep, that and the "Daily progress" changelog item both get changed by running the make-release.py script after merging, per https://github.com/pop-os/system76-driver?tab=readme-ov-file#making-changes

Although "Bump version to..." commit is now inaccurate since master went to 20.04.87 and I rebased this on that... Engineering can tell us if that's a problem. If it is, I can try some rebasing and stuff
