Here's an obligatory... "Me too!" I'm seeing the same error, although I'm running 20.04 with HWE and I got the 5.16 kernel from System76, ZFS 2.1.2, and now I'm seeing this same issue on my system.
I will look into it
Now in correct repo.
Distribution (run
cat /etc/os-release
): Pop!_OS 21.10Related Application and/or Package Version (run
apt policy $PACKAGE NAME
):Issue/Bug Description:
the POP-OS version of zfs-initramfs (2.1.2-1ubuntu3pop0) has this in its control file:
As far as I can see there is NO version
1.30.1-7
available as part of Pop!_OS 21.10 (or Ubuntu 21.10)Steps to reproduce (if you know):
I assume based on the repos, that just trying to install the latest PopOS version of

on 21.10 will not work as doing a:sudo apt upgrade busybox-initramfs
will printbusybox-initramfs is already the newest version (1:1.30.1-6ubuntu3.1).
and theapt install
ofzfs-initramfs
will produce the error we are discussing in this issueExpected behavior:
