Area "bounding box" or "extent" property #70

Open akuckartz opened 10 years ago

A new "bounding box" property was recently added to a list in #59. The corresponding issue for OpenGovLD is https://github.com/OpenGovLD/specs/issues/70

This issue is about the details.

These two alternatives have been mentioned:

The first one has a range "Abstract Geometry" which is described in http://data.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/ontology/geometry/AbstractGeometry as

A superclass of all geometry types such as points, lines and polygons. This is currently a place holder class and likely to change when some standard way of representing geometries in RDF is agreed.

It therefore is not obvious how it can be used. I prefer WKT (which already is used by OpenGovLD) to GML.

Noting that OCDS or its draft extractives and land extension has some relevant content for this.
