When you initialize a brick or a pipeline (not iterated) in MIA, if your 3rd party softwares path (Matlab, SPM, FSL) are not configured in MIA preferences, initialization fails with a popup message indicating that these path are not set. In the same line, if input/output mandatory parameters/files are not set, initialization fails with the same type of popup message.
Now if you do the same thing on an iterated pipeline (or brick), initialization pass without popup and file path are created in the data browser.
Minimum steps to reproduce:
In MIA preferences, delete your Matlab/SPM/FSL configuration
Create an iterated pipeline without setting proper input parameters
Initialize it: it works ! Wait... It shouldn't !
Note: I did not try to run the iterated pipeline, but I assume i would fail when trying to use the considered 3rd party software
