This section lets the user filter their data based on the star's metadata. It makes sense to only populate the drop down lists in the filters with the metadata available in the database, rather than showing the entire generic list.
For example, in the Nationality filter, why have the entire list of countries available? If none of your stars are from Afghanistan, why would Afghanistan be in the drop down list, etc? It just clutters up the dropdown list. Have these lists only show the metadata that exists in the database.
