Discord crashes when opening any server

Behaviour

When I open any server Discord crashes and is unusable until I close it from tray. Sometimes it shows error "Color issues while screensharing" sometimes just general error with restart button.

Steps to reproduce this issue

Open any server
Wait few seconds
Discord shows error

Expected behaviour

I can see list of users and chat, join voice channels etc

Actual behaviour

Discord shows this error. But I have driver 536.99 (installed by Windows Update) so it's not an issue with NVIDIA. On some servers Discord just shows error and restart button but when I press it Discord shows same error after restart and I have to close it from tray.

Configuration

App release / arch (ex. 1.0.0-2 win64) : Stable 240237 (a1ba594) Host 1.0.9010

i also have the same issue. seems like Discord Portable needs a Update to the latest version.

Same issue here, might be a similar issue to last year with Discord Portable probably needing to update the Host Version to the latest one. I don't have the Official Desktop client installed but hopefully that's the fix again

Can confirm, its crashing all the time, chat content going missing and who's on the server to the right cannot be seen.

@crazy-max we need an update as soon as possible

I don't have an NVIDIA graphics card but I have the same error.

Discord: 1.0.9010-15 win32 Portapps: 3.7.0 OS: Win 10 Pro 22H2 build 19045.3570

well i accidentally pushed an MR to this repo (vs first my own fork) - https://github.com/portapps/discord-portable/pull/111

but so far, running the build by crazymax's git-actions on my fork, i have not got the color-issues warning (and im also not on the latest version of nvidia mentioned in the error), nor the crash-loop.

normally, there are 15-20 people here, but now, for the past few days, nothing has been showing, can't send any messages to anyone. The app immediately crashes or closes down if I try.

Hi everyone. No color bug but actualization issue here, with last release on W10 22H2 Discord portapps crashes and needs to refresh when selecting emojis and doesn't send message.

Yeah everything seems kinda broken right now. Any action results in an error asking for reload.

Same issue here, It crashed within 10 seconds of opening. :( having to use discord it in a portable browser until it's fixed.

Hi.

I also got the same issue as above. Started last week as the halloween event started on Discord and havent been able to run it properly since then without crashing. Previously I've had no issues with Discord Portable.

Hi boys......... i don't have understand correctly how i need to do. Currently i have ever use the current portable from here: https://portapps.io/app/discord-portable/#download

Recently the app it's become unusable...... it's all like running at very slow and the app it is generally non-functional.

How i need to do ? If i understand correctly upper here it's will need to be updated to 1.0.9020........... but how i can do this ? the @wharlox mirror it's fix this issue ? How i can update that ?

So... anyway if you use the official app (not as portable) the official discord app apparently it's contain the version: 1.0.9021-full

Apparently the current discord setup. if you extract it with somethigs like "Universal Extractor" contain this....... i don't have idea if we can usable whit current 1.0.9010 portable package.

EDIT Oh yes.. apparently yes... it's works: immagine

Simply download the main and original setup...... extract that...... you obtain somethings like this: immagine

After that you can extract the file "Discord-1.0.9021-full.nupkg". Apparently it's simply a zip file. After that inside folder lib/net45 you can pick the current 1.0.9021. Simply move all files to portable folder subfolder called app-1.0.9010 and run the main discord-portable.exe. After that you can obtain the current 1.0.9022 folder and now Discord portable apparently works correctly...... yes.

in the best case scenario, at each new start, the update starts again, it make again folder 1.0.9010 and the deletes it again... for the moment I am using another portable client

may I ask what is the other portable client you are using now? seems like this one is not getting maintained anymore (oficially at least)
