Using nextcloud-portable, an update notification appears every time when running the application (which is not helpful in this case, as the update setup suggests installing Nextcloud the common way, e.g. to c:\program files).
Maybe you could append skipUpdateCheck=true to the [General] part of the nextcloud.cfg file by default.
