A visualization designed by your team showing the unstructured text data about habitat and substrate. This data is not available for all samples, but if present, we want some representation of this unstructured text data, that gives the user an impression of the habitat and growing conditions of the samples in the selected data.
As with the other charts, this should update when the user makes brushing selections
An example approach you could take for this goal is a word cloud.
Sketch your approach, including encodings and interactions, and submit these sketches with your documentation.
A visualization designed by your team showing the distribution of hierarchical classification data. The goal is to help the user see the relationship between classification categories, and how abundant they are in the selected data. There are a number of approaches you could take, from phylogenetic trees with adjacent bar charts, or a tree map, or even a set of bar charts the user can create through selections in a UI, to select hierarchical classes to focus on.
As with the other charts, this should update when the user makes selections through brushing actions.
Sketch your approach, including encodings and interactions, and submit these sketches with your documentation.
Decide how to lay out this new set of visualizations, and ensure that brushing and linking works across the set of views.
