Track users with GDPR compliance

Options:

1) MonsterInsights. A popular WordPress plug-in that uses Google Analytics.

• Pros:
  • Easy set-up. Plug that baby in.
  • Guidelines for GDPR compliance.
• Cons:
  • Less plugins the better, as a rule. (Not a strict rule!). Can slow down the site if we use too many.
  • Had a security breach in 2023

2) Use our host tracking. It may be enough for what we need. https://stat.domeneshop.no/ (use FTP user/pwd from domainnameshop.no email). Or it my be shit. Let's see.

3) Have a dev (me) setup the tracking Google Analytics.

• Pros:
  • One less plug-in
  • More control
• Cons:
  • Will take dev time. Estimate 8 hrs for set-up. Unclear how much time I have to commit and where that time is best placed.
