Fix #244: If task return code does not equal zero, raise an exception. #246

With this change, the exit code of the deploy command is 1 instead of 0 when the deploy fails.

As may be obvious by the list of commits in this PR, this requires #245 to be merged first. (Or if this PR is merged first, #245 will be obsolete.)
