A heat map would show so much more information about comorbidities than a bar chart, which might increase the feeling that adding posit to databricks lets you do impressive things with impressive amounts of data.
Heat maps also seem to have a bit of an "eye candy" factor, like... regular maps.
This would have a downstream effect though: displaying all of the comorbidity data efficiently would remove the need to filter by number and type of comorbidities in the sidebar. That could be an opportunity though. We could free up the sidebar to let the user choose specific patient segments and demographics to look at.
The purpose of the app would emerge as something that helps you identify clusters of diseases in different populations.
I'm not sure if it is possible to use the heatmap as an input, but letting the user click on a square to drill down into the data would add a wow factor to the demo.
