@willemarcel @smit1678 how has HOTOSM been installing OMK Server, standalone or as part of a POSM installation? cc @mojodna
@danbjoseph It looks like these instructions don't work at all, even beyond what I described above. We might want to expand upon this issue.
Docker doesn't install, which causes the omk-server
systemd service to fail, the whole setup looks like it's geared to be part of some ISO that uses local DNS to route everything over posm.io
(with no easy or defined way to change this), etc.
@danbjoseph the deployments that I have participated, like guatemala and zambia.hotosm.org were done standalone.
Do you have documentation for the standalone install process? (Our up-to-date docs only cover installing as part of posm.)
@danbjoseph this dockerfile is updated: https://github.com/hotosm/OpenMapKitServer/blob/master/Dockerfile
I'm always updating that documentation: https://github.com/hotosm/OpenMapKitServer/blob/master/docs/development-installation.md
Thanks!
Thanks! @rbreslow can you try checking out those instructions instead of what's on openmapkit.org?
Problem description
The "Tested On" instructions under the OMK Walkthrough for Basic installation are outdated:
https://github.com/posm/OpenMapKitWebsite/blob/960ae29e646b7a43461a371053018faa48c32524/_site/docs_install.html#L279-L291
Installation following these instructions will fail.
