This PR will move gulp to version 4 and uses latest lodash.

Thank you for taking time to submit this - please accept my apologies for being radio silent for 2 years! 😱 😭 I fixed the lodash dep in v2.0.6. I'm planning to remove gulp from the repo once I have some time to get v3 squared away. I'm going to close this PR for now - but if v3 takes longer than I hope, I may pull in the gulp update as a transient step.
