Maybe atom-toggle-tabs is not the best option, but I found the combination with tree-view-open-files very nice. It rhymes with my Sublime habits too. :)

toggle-tabs has a bug when you create new panes and toggle tabs (some panes have tabs, some don't, see https://github.com/chadmoore/atom-toggle-tabs/issues/1).

toggle-packages doesn't have this issue.
