It would be cool and extreme easy for developers if you allow people to install your Magento extension using Modman. https://github.com/colinmollenhour/modman

Sorry for the verrrry late reply here, this issue got forgotten somehow. We currently have a very similar script we use to keep our development installation symlinked, so we have a list of file to link. Will investigate it for implementation.
