postgresql 9.6 hasn't been supported since November 11, 2021.

The individual READMEs don't seem to serve a purpose anymore.

@BryanQuigley thanks for the submission! I'm not sure we want to remove 9.6 yet, but approved the workflow to get it through CI for now.

@ImreSamu is it time to retire the 9.6 images, or are they still buildable/supportable for brave folks who wish to use them?

Yes; retire It has been removed from the upstream postgresql repo; so no security fixes ..
