API Lifecycle Weekly - January 20th, 2022

This is a weekly public meeting to discuss the different areas of the API lifecycle and governance, push forward discussions around how the API lifecycle applies to OpenAPI and AsyncAPI, and work on extensions, platform ops collections, tooling, and blueprints that will help the community be more successful.

Agenda:

• Platform Ops (Specifications, Design, Mocking, Documentation, Environments, Testing, Security, Monitoring, Discovery, Workspaces, Client, Source Control, CI/CD, Gateway, APM, Orchestration, Observability, Governance, Analytics, Teams,Change, Automation)
  • Collection Ideas - A handful of ideas for platform ops collections that could be useful.
• Platform Governance (Workspace) - Move forward with storytelling around linting rules.
  • Applying to OT APIs - Applying platform governance to the OpenAPI linting API.
  • Blueprint - A draft template for platform governance, providing each element of how it is done.
• Templates (Workspace) - Explore more templates that we can develop, how we can turn templates, standards, and common practices into more of a production.
• State of the API (Report)- Discuss how we can make the State of the API report more hands-on, with regular storytelling and discussions around the findings.
