New Integration Request - Xray

Describe your current workflow How do you use Postman with the rest of the tools in your stack to achieve your use-case?

We, at the Xray team, are aware of several customers using Postman and Xray (https://www.getxray.app/) together. We have been asked about how to integrate (and I think you also have been) both tools. We also use Postman internally to help validate our APIs.

Describe your ideal workflow We see value for both our customers, to provide a more close integration between Postman and Xray, so they could:

• see detailed results, including for all assertions, being fully reported to Jira using Xray, so all team members could diagnose better the test failures
• link a PM test to a existing Story in Jira, right from the test code
• ability to connect with Xray, right from Postman, as many users (testers, devs) use PM and may want to easily synch their tests to Jira

Describe alternatives you've considered

Please see the tutorial we made with some possible implementations, using "newman" for Xray on Jira server/datacenter (https://docs.getxray.app/display/XRAY/Developing+and+testing+APIs+using+Postman) and for Xray on Jira cloud (https://docs.getxray.app/display/XRAYCLOUD/Developing+and+testing+APIs+using+Postman). However, this implementation has some limitations:

• unable to see all asserts in a given Test Run; we can only see the overall result for the pm.test()
• unable to link to an existing Story in Jira, right from Postman
• works from a CI perspective but requires to use newman... it doesn't work if you're just using Postman
