Feature Request: Client certificate support for Monitors #3706

Open powelli opened 6 years ago

powelli commented 6 years ago

Feature Request

We use Postman Pro internally for developing and testing our APIs. The public endpoints are protected by SSL mutual authentication using client certificates. We would love to be able to set up automated monitoring and testing of our endpoints using Monitors and make full use of our Pro subscription, but currently this doesn't seem to be possible as Monitors don't support the configuration of a client certificate to be used in requests.

Would it be possible to see this on the roadmap for Monitors as it's supported in the clients and newman already?

@powelli Thanks for suggesting this feature.

@prashantagarwal I would also like to have this feature :slightly_smiling_face:

This is a serious blocker for us. We won't be able to use postman enterprise for anything serious until this issue is addressed.

In postman/newman in general, client certs need the ability to be stored in environments, which would solve this problem. As postman is a chrome based app, I'm guess this may be a little tricky for your dev team, so for us at least, we would be fine with that being a newman only feature.

+1 this is essential for as well. We have a machine to machine offering and we issue certs to vendors, so this is a must for us

+1 on this

+1 from me as well. Our API’s require a client certificate in the auth process, and due to security concerns we cannot turn off this feature for testing.

Anything new about implementing client certificate authentication to be used with Monitors? Currently it seems to be very important feature for our decision to go with POSTMAN or not.

Any update? Is there any intention to implement this feature?

omonien commented 3 years ago

+1 from me as well. Even our staging environment is client cert protected - which prevents us to run monitors.

This is quite critical for our automated testing as well. When can this feature be available? It has been open for almost 5 years now.

FelipeAlvesLima commented 1 year ago

Wow since 2017 and nothing?

godfrzero commented 1 year ago

Hey folks! We haven't picked this up yet but it's on our radar. This is something we'll be building on top of the recently introduced ability to upload and run monitors with data files. I'll post an ETA for supporting client certificates in monitors here as soon as we have one figured out.

edmundham commented 1 year ago

+1 and thanks for the updates. Looking forward to see ETA :D

One pandemics, one war, man on Mars and we still don't have certificates on Postman Monitors :D

malvikach commented 10 months ago

Hi All,

Wanted to share some updates: We have not added the support on monitors for certificates yet. However, we are working on a feature improvement that allows us to upload files so that monitors can access and run them. (see more here).

We believe that the above feature improvement will also help us implement the option to upload a certificate for monitors soon. I don't have an ETA to share yet but we will keep you updated with the news on this.

Thanks for sharing your feedback with us and being patient. We appreciate it. Meanwhile, if you like to talk with us regarding this or any other problems you have been facing with Postman, please feel free to use my calendar to block some time.

Regards, Malvika

Hi, As file storage was implemented on December 15, 2023, as mentioned here, does Postman Monitors now support client-certificates?
