Build Failure with Ubuntu 22.04.3 #472

I am trying to build Clingo-5.6.2 with Lua Support. My build files don't seem to have any problems, as seen below. Screenshot from 2023-12-08 15-49-00 During build I receive this error.

I am quite lost here, so any help is appreciated.

I presume that this is a manually installed version of Lua that has not been build with -fPIC. You have a couple of options:

rebuild lua adding -fPIC to the LDFLAGS
use the lua libraries provided by Ubuntu (they ship shared objects that should just work)
- for example aptitute install liblua5.1-dev should do the trick
- you might have to remove the local install
do not build the shared clingo library
- you can set -DCLINGO_BUILD_STATIC=ON
