Here is my first thoughts about how the tutorial might be structured. Each top-level point corresponds to one page that would cover one topic; sub-level points are the features to be built at each step.

• Core concepts (a friendlier re-do of http://guides.emberjs.com/v1.13.0/getting-started/core-concepts/)
• Installation
• ember new, ember server, ember test, ember build, deployment
• Templates
  • A homepage
  • An about page
• Models (POJOs until the next page)
  • Listings
  • States
• Ember Data
• Components
  • Listing tile
  • Auto-complete
• Helpers
  • Format currency
  • [Something else? Always good to have 2 examples.]
• CSP (since it will be needed for both initializers features)

I like the structure, but I would propose reorganizing it a tiny bit.

• What we will be building (gives context)
• Core concepts (a friendlier re-do of http://guides.emberjs.com/v1.13.0/getting-started/core-concepts/) and how they relate to our tutorial app
• Installing ember-cli and other dependencies, a brief introduction to bower and npm (for the people coming from jQuery backgrounds)
• Ember CLI commands and generators, generate new app
• Introduction to router basics, generate a new route
• Templates
  • A homepage
  • An about page I think one static template should be sufficient?
• Routes, model hook (POJOs until the next page)
  • Listings
  • States
• Ember Data
• Components
  • Google Map
  • Listing tile
  • Auto-complete
• Helpers
  • Format currency
  • Moment for formatting time?
• CSP (since it will be needed for both initializers features)
• Services
  • Google Maps
  • Typekit (I would probably skip this)
