I am apparently a terrible person. I just now noticed this pull request. I am not sure how that happened. There was a time last year when I wasn't getting emails from github that I have since resolved, and I fear this may have come in then.
Unfortunately through no fault of yours this pull now has conflicts. I am going to close it. I will attempt to make the changes myself to align with other metadata from other modules.
Again I apologize for completely missing this.
Small change in the name field will set 'mco plugin package' to create normal package names by default. This is in line with the other supported mco plugins such as service, puppet and filemgr.
