I have copied psf fonts to /usr/share/consolefonts, and edit /etc/default/console-setup as below: ACTIVE_CONSOLES="/dev/tty[1-6]" CHARMAP="UTF-8" FONT="ter-powerline-v14n.psf.gz"

after reboot, not all symbols can be display ed in tty console. type echo " ±  ➦ ✘ ⚡ ⚙" , only the first three can be displayed correctly, others are little rectangles. any suggestions?

when i view READM.markdown in psf directory by vi in tty, all characters( from U+2320-U+221A) in this file can't be displayed correctly. use putty login by ssh works fine. my locals in linux(debian stretch) box is en_US.utf-8

or just these characters can't be displayed in pure console mode without X?

I am also facing this issue. Running Ubuntu 19.04 using gnome-terminal. My font is Inconsolata for Powerline.
