Overlapping characters in Inconsolata #39

I have the following in a text file: →OOO—OOO

Displaying this file in gvim with Inconsolata Medium 13 looks fine: inconsolata

But switching to the font to Inconsolata for Powerline Medium 13 causes the right arrow and em dash to overlap the character that follows: inconsolata_for_powerline

Please let me know if any additional information would be useful.

Just to be clear, this problem happens when using the patched font available at https://github.com/Lokaltog/powerline-fonts/blob/master/Inconsolata/Inconsolata%20for%20Powerline.otf

I have since discovered that this problem doesn't happen when using the fontconfig method, so that's what I'm using now. But that doesn't fix the problem with the patched font noted above, so I'm leaving this issue open.
