Pre-patched Anonymous Pro arrowheads are vertically misaligned on Retina with iTerm 2 #75

Migrated Lokaltog/powerline#916 by @mcantor:

Before I tried messing with iTerm2 font configs:

Before configuration

After jiggling the vertical character spacing:

Vertical character spacing

The latter screenshot is damned close, but as you can see from the full-sized version (please don't go by the thumbnail), the right arrowhead after "NORMAL" is clearly too small, and zooming in or out with ⌘+ and ⌘- exacerbates the problem.

The offending pixels

I find this inconsistency unbefitting of our craft, and thus it cannot be countenanced. I desire perfection as advertised on the tin:

Perfection, or thereabouts

I've got this too.

Same settings as @mcantor wrt iTerm2 and shell

I have the same problem without retina.

Set the Non-ASCII Font to one size lower than Font size. Usually works for me to make the arrow align,

Same problem here - Terminal.app on a 12" Macbook set to 1440x900 equivalent. Not just Anonymous Pro - \ue0b0 doesn't appear to line up properly using any of the fonts in this repo.

Also experiencing this in iTerm 2 and Terminal.app on a Retina iMac running 10.10.
