Minimal towards a decent v0.1 tests (and/or fixes) for ...

[x] string data handling
[x] masked data handling
[x] load+save kwargs functioning
[x] iris <-> xarray conversions (practical specific integration checks, to ensure key behaviours)
[x] essential behaviour checks for "lazy-preserving and copy-free"
