osu locking video feed when selecting other window #1052

Hi,

So a few days ago I was playing osu as usual but since then I have done some windows updates and Nvidia updates and yesterday I was unable to do anything else while osu was open.

What I mean is that if I started osu I was able to play normally but when I wanted to go to a different app, not necessarily using alt tab, the video feed locked and osu looked like the following: image

I thought that the game was entirely stuck but apparently not I was still able to control the game and play (if you can call it playing lol) but I was only able to see the game as it was in the above picture. So basically everything still worked except for what I was seeing.

I tried several changes like changing the resolution etc, but none worked. In the end I started to use compatibility mode which worked it just glitched for several seconds when I used a different app and went back, sometimes it even caused it to close itself midgame.

To be honest I have no clue what is going on, or if I can do anything about it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

I tried switching GPU from Nvidia to Intel but that didn't work

Happen to me as well, but on my case this happened not just when you switch to other apps, this issue can be reproduce when you try to open editor. most likely caused by the latest nvidia driver update (ver. 526.86) because the issue start to appear after i updated my driver. roll back to the previous driver or enabling the compatibility mode fix the issue for me

roll back to the previous driver or enabling the compatibility mode fix the issue for me

I see, well guess I could roll back then and see if it works, but compatibility mode isn't an option since it crashed midgame so.

So rolling back from Nvidia version 526.86 to 522.25 seems to have solved the issue. Thx @aerotracker for the help!

Is there going to be support for newer Nvidia drivers?
