Increased Lag and Stutters with Discord open #1175

I'm having major issues with frame drops and stuttering with Discord (Canary) open. This started happening to me around the time the Clips feature was added to Discord.

I've got an i9-11900KB, 3060TI, 32GB of Memory, and osu! is on my SSD (which does have plenty of space available).

I do not even think that is even fixable. This is to be expected performance for most games if you have discord open due to the amount of resources that discord requires (It being electron certainly doesn't help matters either). I do believe performance loss caused by having Discord open may be improved but I certainly don't believe that you can resolve such an issue altogether.

We perform testing with discord open and don't run into any overhead. It's usually the result of some other factor which can cumulatively lead to performance degradataion. Hard to diagnose.

https://osu.ppy.sh/help/wiki/Performance_Troubleshooting may have some tips.

Things I've tried (but have made it worse or no impact at all)

I'm going to try installing Discord Stable instead of Canary and hopefully that will fix the issue.

I've uninstalled Discord Canary and re-installed Discord Stable and the issue seems to have fixed itself. While using Process Monitor, I can see that Discord Stable uses about half the amount of API Calls (~300k, screenshot) compared to Discord Canary (~600k, screenshot) in a ~5s timespan with osu!stable closed.

I also had the same issue with osu!lazer and it also seems like the lag/stutter issues are resolved by using Discord Stable instead of Discord Canary.
