Beatmap lost ranked status #593

Edit 2024: I was playing this beatmap and when I finished I got an error saying that the online ranking for this beatmap wasn't available, maybe it had lost its ranked status.

I downloaded this beatmap just two days ago, played it once and have definitely never edited it since. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, it's still kind of frustrating. I'm waiting for the lazer UI update, then I'll make the switch and hopefully this will be a thing of the past :)

Did you ever edit this map in the editor?

I don't think so, I don't see why I would do that on this map. Then again I haven't returned to this map in a while, so I might have edited it last time. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee that I didn't open it in the editor :/

Explanation:

  1. If I edited the map I cannot exit the map without being greeted a message box telling me to save it 1.1 I didn't edit the map, so I can exit smooth
  2. Then I exited the map I edited on, it lost the ranked status (or perhaps lost the internal metadata state) so I clicked to update it
  3. The map has not changed a single bit

By the way this map is just ranked a slightly more than 2 weeks ago (15 days) so the frequency of the map being modified before ranked is high, and so far my deduction is that this would only happen to maps that you have installed before it ranked (including pending/not submitted/qualified)

Seems like my hypothesis is not correct, and it's more random: this map is loved before I downloaded it

Also notice how when I exited the map, the ranking indicator (top left) is being unset. This further indicates some intermediate state/metadata is missing
