Open Yeewind opened 4 years ago

Yeewind commented 4 years ago

Catalina v. 10.15.6

Couldn't see any alert pop up, I've tried reinstall / restart / install in safe mode, none of them works.

I'm having the same issue.

mbrinkhaus commented 4 years ago

On a different Mac Book Pro I have updated to MacOS Big Sur Version 11.0 Beta (20A5354i) and KE stopped working.

vorou commented 4 years ago

To those who use Karabiner to do keyboard remapping only, here's the native way to do the same:

chrisloftus commented 4 years ago

Same here, any updates? Cannot disable inbuilt keyboard when bluetooth is connected. Downgraded to v12.10 for now.

Judging from a lot of feedback, Karabiner-Elements v13.0.0 requires macOS 10.15.6 or higher because macOS 10.15.5 or earlier has an issue around DriverKit. Please downgrade to v12.10.0 if you are using macOS 10.15.5 or earlier. https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org/docs/releasenotes/

If you are using macOS 10.15.6 or later, try macOS Catalina Note #1 on this following page. https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org/docs/help/troubleshooting/driver-alert-keeps-showing-up/

UNFPAmaldives commented 4 years ago

The option of "deactivating and activating [the] driver," as described in the page you reference, is not available, as it does not appear in the Advanced section of the alert. Indeed, the alert I receive has no Advanced section; this is what I see:

After installing version 13.0.0 this issue is fixed for me.

MikeMitterer commented 4 years ago

@mbrinkhaus ??? Strange - the opposite helped for me, downgrading from 13.0 to 12.10.0 brought the solution. The even stranger thing was that when I tried to install 13.1.0 it told me it needs Catalina 10.15.6 because it is unable to install on one of my drives, but I have Catalina 10.15.6 (The drive is named Mojave - but Catalina is installed!!)

### I am here to announce that in my 10.14 OSx, Karabiner becomes a joke.

For v12.10.0, It reports the alert and indicates that i could allow it in the Security & Privacy, Yes, I opened the Security & Priacy but I find nothing. From the official doc, it saids that I could disable and enable the driver, but I even didn't find the button which is showed in the official doc. Then, I upgrade to Karabiner 13, but, it says that my OSx is not compatible. Amazing, right?

I really wonder why such a software provided so many useless information and so-called guides to users and spare the users a lot of efforts?

tekezo commented 3 years ago

@MikeMitterer Your OS is 10.15.5. Please use Karabiner-Elements v12.10.0 until you upgrade your OS to 10.15.6 or later.

@VicoWu Karabiner-Elements v13.0.0 or later does not support macOS 10.14. Please use Karabiner-Elements v12.10.0.

@tekezo Although troubled a lot,, but still appreciated for your response. The issue I described is exactly based on v12.10.0. My OSx is 10.14. I cannot find a solution for the issue and mislead by the fake alert and official doc. No help.

VicoWu commented 3 years ago

So, seems like no solution, just an unavailable software in my OSx.

I am not sure what exactly happened for you, but for me KE worked perfectly on Mojave. It is only after upgrading I started seeing bugs. Have you tried uninstalling and then installing it again?

huangzonggui commented 3 years ago

download the new version, and install to fix this issue: https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org/

matino commented 3 years ago

I'm on 12.10 and I have exactly the same problem: when I open the Security & Priacy window, I find nothing to click "Allow" to.
