Micrsoft Surface Keyboard not appearing in devices list #2869

I recently purchased a microsoft surface keyboard, on the understanding I could use karabiner to remap it and use it to go between my PC and my macbook. However, it doesn't appear in the devices list. When I initially installed karabiner, the keyboard wasn't properly mapped but did type and did appear in the devices list. I followed the pop-up and uninstalled drivers, and have reinstalled drivers and it went away. I have also enabled karabiner_grabber and karabiner_observer in security and privacy settings.

Given it did appear and now doesn't I'm really hoping there's a fix. I have also installed beta updates.

Thank you for any help you can give

When you mention "devices list", do you mean devices (drop-down) list in "Simple modification" tab or the list in "Devices" tab?

Is it wired or wireless? Does Log tab show anything related to this keyboard?

You may also try list-keyboards[1] . Running it (in terminal) will show product names of all keyboards. It is a helper utility of another app called KMonad.

P.S. You may have to execute chmod u+x path/to/list-keyboards-<arch> to run the program.

[1] Download from here - https://github.com/MuhammedZakir/kmonad/actions/runs/1304750441. Feel free to check the code and the workflow file before executing it.
