my keyboard type changes when i activate karabiner - elements #3032

so my keyboard works with and is recognized as ISO when i have karabiner elements disabled, however the moment i turn it on it changes and will not change back. when i do what it tells me to, to set the keyboard up in the settings i do that. select ISO and click ok- it still doesnt change anything.

i am on a macbook pro m1 if that changes anything

I have the exact same problem, my keyboard is ISO and the keys < and > are changed to | and °, and the keyboard on the preferences is showed as ANSI, idk why

@PatschD I cannot find a definitive solution for this, right now what im doing is change the keys on karabiner like this

same!!

My external keyboard is Nordic (ISO layout). I got a new macbook ($$$$) and i finally switched to ISO (UK) layout, instead of US, to finally have matching keyboards and fewer Karabiner modifications

And then this?! 😭 😭 😭 wth

I can't even think of the logic behind this from a software perspective 🤷 image

At this point, i probably only want the F-keys to work as F1-F12, plus some media controls. I'll probably look into https://github.com/koekeishiya/skhd , or just use https://www.hammerspoon.org/

Karabiner seems like Abandonware, with 1.1k issues lol
