Internal keyboard not disabled on M2 Macbook Pro #3152

Hello,

I am using a Nuphy Air75 bluetooth keyboard (recognized as "Air75 BT5.0 (BEKEN) [1452,591]") with Karabiner elements 14.6.0 on a Macbook Pro M2 2022. I am unable to disable the internal keyboard when the Nuphy Air is connected and the "disable the built-in keyboard..." is checked under Devices>Advanced.

sonirajan commented 2 years ago

I also have the same issue with the same keyboard. I started seeing this issue after upgrading to the latest 14.6.0 version. Rolling back to the previous version Karabiner-Elements 14.4.0 seems to fix the issue (before the new UI introduced version).

Please use "Treat as a built-in keyboard" feature for a while. https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org/docs/manual/configuration/disable-built-in-keyboard/

Note: I have had this problem with previous versions (14.4.0) in my environment.

@sonirajan and @tekezo, thank you for the suggestions. I tried both of these and unfortunately I still am unable to disable my keyboard. I am on a Macbook Pro M2 running macOS Monterey 12.5 (21G72). I am connecting with the Nuphy Air 75 using BT5.0 and BT3.0 I still encounter the problem.

I've improved the M2 Macbook built-in keyboard detection at the latest stable release (v14.8.0). Please confirm the release.

Hello @tekezo thanks for the update. Unfortunately I am still having the issue. If anyone else has the nuphy air 75 on a macbook pro or air m2 and can reproduce this issue that would be great. if not it may be something wrong with my keyboard in particular?

mesqueeb commented 2 years ago

@tekezo Karabiner-Elements 14.8.0 fixed the issue for me! 🎉 https://karabiner-elements.pqrs.org/docs/releasenotes/#karabiner-elements-1480

How are you choosing which BT version to use? Mine seems to only work as BT3.0.
