This used to work for me for a couple of months, then it stopped working when I upgraded to v14.10.0. I tried downgrading back to v14.9.0 and it still doesn't work.
To be clear, for me it technically works for a few seconds to a few minutes, then all of a sudden the built-in keyboard is no longer disabled.
My confusion is as follow:
You should turn off this setting. If "Treat as a built-in keyboard" is enabled, the device is ignored from "Disable the built-in keyboard" settings.
@tekezo Thank you. It works for me!
both ways aren't able to disable built-in keyboard in my M2Max Ventura13.5.2 do you have any way for it?
I have the same problem. Disable the internal keyboard not working
I'm on Mac OS 13.6(22G120) and Karabiner 14.12.0
Really appreciate it if the Dev could look into it and patch the issue soon
After that, I uninstalled Karabiner and reinstall it, now it's working perfectly, I'm not sure what was wrong at that time...

Thank you! I tried reinstalling and it works like a charm.
I recommend anyone encountering the same issue try reinstalling.
I restarted Karabiner and allowed karabiner_observer to monitor input. (It was not shown before restarting.) Then it worked.
same problem here, not working for me I am on Karabiner-Elements 15.3.0 and MAC OS ventura 13.0
I have followed the steps to disable the built-in keyboard when plugged in an external one but it didn’t work for me. I have macOS Monterey and plugged in a Dell keyboard.
Anybody else have the same issue?
