karabiner elements stopped working for built-in keyboard

I used KE to bind caps lock to f19. It stopped working (as well as other modifications). This is only affect built-in MacBook keyboard. The modification on the External Keyboard working fine. I tried reinstall and restart the computer.

Tested with external Apple Magic Keyboard - also doesn't work - KE doesn't capture and modify any events from Apple keyboards.

aslo, it looks like even modifications like «disable internal keyboard» doesn't seem to work

fwiw, external keyboard (keychron k3) and all modifications work fine. Also noticed two devices from apple internal keyboard

is it intentional?

i can confirm same issues on x86 mac

This seems to happen for me as well on my M1 mac.

For my external keyboard the remapping works, but for the internal one it doesn't.
